Modular Melodies is the latest Sound Pack to land in Logic Pro for iPad’s Sound Library.
After a brilliant run of Producer pack releases over the last year we’ve finally got a new Sound Pack but was it worth the wait?
In the Modular Melodies Sound Pack you’ll find over 250 Apple loops and 22 Alchemy synth Patches.
to grab this new Pack, make your way to the Sound Library, tap on the Modular Melodies Sound pack then either preview it or hit GET to add it to your Sound Library.
Modular Melodies is all about evolving arpeggios, complex textures and hypnotizing sequences. All of these loops and sampled sounds were captured from hardware modular synthesizers. Apple are keen to point out that the sounds and instruments from this Modular melodies pack pair really well with the contents of Logic Pro for iPad’s previously released Modular Rhythms pack.
The Loops here are really good if you like that sort of thing and include a nice mix of straight up modular synth samples, glitchy percussion sounds and cool arpeggiated sounds.
As is so often the case, it’s the new instrument patches that are the standout here.
The Alchemy patches included range from great sounding apregiated patterns to heavy bass sounds and lovely pads.
As usual, each patch allows you to use Alchemy’s transform pad to adjust its sound in real time. One thing I find really interesting with patches these in particular is that each of the 8 sections in these sound’s transforms pads offer such different sounds that it’s almost like having 8 sub-presets for each Modular Melodies patch you load up.
It gives these Alchemy sounds a lot more flexibility than most of Logic Pro for iPad’s other stock sounds.
