It seems like there are new MUST HAVE apps releasing every other day now.

Don’t get me wrong  it’s fantastic to see the iOS music making scene booming, but my poor wallet could definitely use a break…

The good news is that you don’t need to break the bank to get your hands on some amazing and useful plugins on iOS.

Here are some of my favourite freebies.

Even MORE free Plugins on iOS!

In the video below I share five more incredible free iOS plugins that every aspiring iPad/iPhone music maker should add to their collection!

The Best Free Plugins on iOS Flux Mini

Flux mini is a strightforward but useful modulation plugin from the audio wizards at Caelum audio.

Throw it onto individual tracks to give lead lines of even guitar tracks a unique feel, or slap it onto a full project to radically alter its entire sound.

Capable of some stellar sounds once you get to grips with it, Flux mini is definitely worth a download!

Wider

Wider is a stereo widening plugin for Mac and iOS that only does one thing, but does that thing very well.

It expands the stereo image of a mono signal to an awe-inspiring amount of width. In fact it can increase the stereo image of any Mono signal up to 200% of full stereo for an extra wide exaggerated effect.

I’ve yet to find a single sound, instrument or loops that doesn’t sound better after adding Wider to it’s signal chain.

LRC5

Available on both iPhone and iPad, LRC5 is a five band EQ. It might be a good option if you find GarageBand’s native three band visual EQ a little limited.

Neon Silicon could easily charge users for this EQ, as it really is very versatile and a worthwhile addition to your iOS app arsenal.

Rough Rider 3

Rough Rider 3 is the third iteration of Audio Damage’s wildly popular compressor effect that has been the mainstay of many a  producer’s sonic toolkit for years now.

It’s stable, CPU efficient and sounds brilliant. What’s not to love?

DLYM

DLYM is a Delay modulator plugin which produces flanger and chorus style effects.

It is particularly effective on guitar tracks. It’s definitely worth experimenting with it on GarageBand’s library of virtual instruments too.

It’s a joy to tinker with and a worthwile addition to your iOS plugin arsenal.
