GarageBand Producer Pack Update

GarageBand Producer Pack Update

If you are a GarageBand for iOS user, you may have noticed some new notifications in your Sound Library over the last few days.

The Watch the Sound, Oak Felder, Take A Daytrip and Soulection Producer Packs have all been updated. What’s in these updates? Well, you’d be forgiven for thinking not a lot really.

GarageBand Producer Pack Update

I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what had changed in these packs specifically. I reached out to Apple for a wee bit of clarification.

They replied as follows:

”…just super minor bug fixes to support their compatibility for the Mac producer pack packages for Logic and GarageBand Mac, which should be live now. Like before those are only triggered when you open an iOS project in Logic or GarageBand Mac that contains any of the producer pack content.”

That’s right! You can now export a GarageBand for iOS project file containing content from the updated Producer Packs, then import that project file into GarageBand for Mac and all of the sounds from the Pack will be downloaded into GarageBand for Mac!

This is great news for GarageBand users on Mac! I’m sure we’ll see the rest of the Producer packs updated with similar cross platform compatibility soon. What do you think of this GarageBand Producer Pack Update?
