Apple’s kicking off Christmas with something pretty fun; a Christmas tree drawing competition called Your Tree on Battersea. Starting today, anyone in the UK can grab an iPad and get creative by designing their own digital Christmas tree.
The twist? The winning designs will be projected onto the famous Battersea Power Station chimneys for everyone to see. The project’s hosted by comedian Munya Chawawa (of Taskmaster fame), and some big names like Stephen Fry and David Shrigley OBE are also getting involved with their own designs.
Apple says it’s all about using the iPad’s creative power to spread some festive cheer and get people making art in new ways, whether you’re a seasoned artist or just messing around with Apple Pencil for the first time.
Entries are open right now and close 23 November at midnight. Then, on 4 December at 5 p.m., Apple will show off the 24 winning trees (plus the celeb ones) projected across Battersea Power Station’s chimneys and wash towers.
If you fancy getting involved but aren’t sure where to start, Apple Stores around the UK are running free 30-minute Today at Apple sessions until 22 December to help you create and submit your own design.

Submissions can also be completed from home. Here’s how to do it in three simple steps:
- Step One: Download the template to iPad via apple.com/uk/apple-christmas-trees then open a drawing app to get started.
- Step Two: Create the Christmas tree. Make it wonderful or make it weird.
- Step Three: Ready to enter? Submit entries via apple.com/uk/apple-christmas-trees. Submissions will be accepted until midnight, 23 November.
