Apple recently dropped a brand new addition to Logic Pro for iPad’s Sound Library, and it might be the most unusual one yet. Titled Visions, this latest pack introduces a collection of gritty loops and Alchemy synth patches that stand out for their dark and atmospheric character.
What’s inside the pack?
Visions includes more than 80 step sequencer loops and 149 new Alchemy synth patches. The loops lean heavily into experimental and moody textures, with plenty of gritty, industrial-style rhythms and some surprisingly melodic gems.
The real highlight, however, is the set of Alchemy sounds. Users will find everything from thick basses and searing leads to sprawling ambient pads and otherworldly soundscapes. Many of the patches are designed to inspire immediate creativity, with sounds that are both playable and highly stylised.
How to get it

Adding Visions to your collection is simple. Open the Sound Library in Logic Pro for iPad, tap on the new pack, and either preview the content or hit Get to download it. Once installed, you can filter your browsing options to only show Visions content, whether you’re exploring loops or diving into the Alchemy patches.
iPad-only exclusivity
For the first time, Apple has released a sound pack that is exclusive to Logic Pro for iPad. GarageBand for iOS users miss out here, as the app doesn’t include the step sequencer or a fully featured version of Alchemy. Likewise, Mac-based Logic Pro users won’t find these sounds in their libraries, at least for now. That makes Visions the first true Logic iPad-only expansion.
This exclusivity makes sense from a technical standpoint, but it also highlights how Apple is carving out a distinct identity for Logic Pro on iPad. Visions feels like a statement of intent, positioning the iPad version as more than just a lightweight companion to the Mac.
First impressions
On first listen, Visions delivers some of the darkest and most left-field content we’ve seen in Apple’s libraries. The loops in particular range from gritty and distorted to almost unsettling, offering plenty of material for experimental producers or those scoring darker cinematic projects.
That said, not everything in the pack is purely “weird.” Nestled among the chaos are some beautiful ambient textures and melodic loops that could easily find a home in more conventional productions. The Alchemy patches are equally diverse, balancing brooding atmospheres with big, usable bass and lead sounds.
Why it matters
New sound packs for Logic Pro for iPad are always welcome, but Visions feels like more than just another batch of loops. Its exclusive focus on iPad, and the adventurous nature of the sounds, show that Apple is willing to push the platform in fresh and unexpected directions.
Whether you’re producing electronic tracks, film scores, or simply looking for new inspiration, Visions offers a set of tools that can help you step outside your comfort zone. And while the darker, more experimental edge might not appeal to everyone, those willing to dig into the pack will find plenty of creative potential.
